AI mock interview
An AI mock interview that makes you defend your code
Speak with an AI interviewer that asks the question, listens, runs the code you write and asks the follow-up a real interviewer would. Practise coding, system design, behavioural and company-specific rounds, then read a report that shows its evidence.
How a session works
Step 1
Choose the round
A problem, a pattern, a company and role, or your resume.
Step 2
Talk it through
The interviewer speaks the question and listens. If your microphone does not work you can continue in text.
Step 3
Get questioned
Follow-ups land on the part of your answer that was thin: an unjustified complexity claim, a missing edge case, a design with no failure mode.
Step 4
Read the report
A written report a minute or so after you finish, saved in your history so the next attempt starts from evidence.
What you can practise
Coding rounds: defend your code
You solve a problem in an editor in the browser while you talk. The code runs against the problem's test cases in 6 languages (Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, Go and C#), and the interviewer sees the result. Then it asks what an interviewer would: why this data structure, what the time and space complexity is, what breaks on an empty or duplicate input, and whether you can make it faster.
System design and low-level design rounds
High-level design rounds move through requirements, estimates, the design and its trade-offs, with the interviewer asking whether the numbers justify each component. Low-level design rounds cover classes, interfaces and concurrency. The practice material behind them is 12 system design families with 26 worked case studies and 12 low-level design families.
Company-specific interviews
Pick a company, a role and a round type. The interviewer uses that company's interview context: 160 companies, 51 roles and 23 round types are in the catalogue. You can also upload your resume and be interviewed on your own projects.
Behavioural, data science and product rounds
Behavioural rounds ask for specific situations and push back on vague answers. Data science, machine learning and product management rounds use the same voice interviewer with questions for those roles.
Practise the material between interviews with the DSA patterns sheet, the system design track and the company kits.
How it scores you
- Each round is scored against a written rubric for that round type, dimension by dimension, not with one overall impression.
- The report quotes your own words as evidence for each strength and each gap, and those quotes are checked against the transcript.
- Help you asked for during the round counts against the score, so a hinted solution does not score like an independent one.
- Starter shows the overall score, a summary, strengths and areas to improve. Pro adds per-question reviews with stronger answers, your top priorities and a practice plan.
What it costs
Starter, free
2 AI mock interviews in your first 7 days, then 1 a month. No card needed.
Pro
Up to 15 AI mock interviews a month, plus AI code feedback, company kits and the 90-day roadmaps. ₹999 a month + 18% GST in India; $14.99 a month + 18% taxes elsewhere.
For comparison, paid human mock interviews in India are often around ₹450 a session[source]. A month of Pro (₹1,179 with GST) costs about the same as two or three of those, for up to 15 AI interviews.
Questions, answered
- What is an AI mock interview?
- A practice interview with an AI interviewer that speaks the question, listens to your answer, asks follow-up questions and writes a report at the end. On Thita it runs in the browser with your microphone, and coding rounds include an editor whose code actually runs.
- Does the AI interviewer ask follow-up questions?
- Yes. Follow-ups are the point: why you chose an approach, what the complexity is, what happens on an edge case, how a design behaves when a component fails. A thin answer gets a follow-up rather than a move to the next question.
- Can I practise system design interviews with AI?
- Yes. System design rounds walk through requirements, scale estimates, the high-level design and trade-offs, and low-level design rounds cover object-oriented design and concurrency. Rounds last up to 45 minutes.
- Can I practise for a specific company?
- Yes. Choose a company, role and round type and the interviewer uses that company's interview context. The catalogue has 160 companies, 51 roles and 23 round types.
- How is the interview scored?
- Against a rubric for the round type, dimension by dimension. The report quotes what you said as evidence, and help you asked for during the round lowers the score. Starter shows the overall score, summary, strengths and areas to improve; Pro adds per-question reviews, priorities and a practice plan.
- How many AI mock interviews are free?
- The free Starter plan includes 2 AI interviews in your first 7 days, then 1 a month. Pro includes 15 a month and Elite 30; the AI Coach draws on the same allowance. An interview only counts once a report is generated.
- How much does Pro cost?
- In India, ₹999 a month plus 18% GST (₹1,179), or ₹4,999 a year plus GST. Elsewhere, $14.99 a month or $75 a year, plus 18% taxes; a first monthly plan outside India starts with a 7-day free trial.
- Is practising with an AI interviewer allowed?
- Yes. This is practice before the interview, like a mock with a friend. Thita does not run during your real interview and does not feed you answers.
