Final Round AI Review (2026): Pricing, Reddit Complaints and a Practice-First Alternative
Final Round AI review: what the live copilot and mock interviews do, Pro at $25+/mo, refund rules, user complaints, employer policies and alternatives.

Final Round AI is a real, paid product with two parts: a live "Interview CoPilot" that suggests answers while you are in an actual interview, and a Practice Interview mode for mock sessions. Its pricing page lists a free plan and Pro at "$25+/mo", with no free trial. The mock interviews are a normal prep tool. The live copilot is the part most employers do not allow, and it is where most of the risk and most of the complaints sit.
Thita.ai makes an AI mock interview product, so we're a competitor; every price and claim below links to its source. This review draws on the vendor's public pages and published user reviews (Trustpilot, Product Hunt and similar), checked in October 2026.
Final Round AI at a glance (checked October 2026)
| Question | Short answer |
|---|---|
| What is it? | An interview assistant with a live "Interview CoPilot", Practice Interview mock sessions, automatic debriefs, "Screen Help" and a "Stealth Mode". |
| What does it cost? | Free plan at $0. Pro is listed as "$25+/mo"; the page does not explain the "+" and says "Save up to 40%" next to a "See all plans" link. |
| Free trial? | The pricing page says "There is no free trial - live sessions need an active Pro subscription." |
| Refunds? | A 3-day (72-hour) money-back guarantee, once per customer, and not available after "substantial use" (at least 2 sessions longer than 30 minutes in the billing period). |
| Is it legit? | Yes, as a company and product. Trustpilot shows 2.8 out of 5 from 280 reviews, with refunds and billing the main complaints. |
| Is it worth it? | For mock practice, it is one option among cheaper and free ones. For live use, check the employer's rules first; many prohibit it. |
| Best alternative for practice? | Thita's AI mock interview if you want your code run and a scored report, at $14.99/month for Pro. See the table below. |

What Final Round AI is and what you get
From the homepage, the product has these parts:
- Interview CoPilot (live). The site describes "A suggested answer, seconds after the question" during live calls on Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, HackerRank, CoderPad and phone screens.
- Practice Interview. Mock sessions across eight scenarios, including coding, behavioral and salary negotiation, set up from a role and resume you provide.
- Interview Debrief. An automatic summary written when a session ends.
- Screen Help. Reads on-screen problems and diagrams, with "Auto-capture" and a "Solve screen" action.
- Stealth Mode. Hides the copilot's windows from screen sharing and recordings. The page markets it as "100% invisible" and "100% undetectable", says it is on by default, and says it can be changed under Settings > Privacy & Stealth.
- Goals, resumes and materials. A place to organise prep for a specific job.
The site claims "10M+" users worldwide. We have not verified that number.
So the subscription bundles two different things. Practice Interview is a rehearsal tool: you answer, then you get a debrief. The live CoPilot feeds you answers while a real interviewer is talking to you. Those deserve separate verdicts, and the rest of this review keeps them apart.
Final Round AI pricing and cost
On the pricing page we read two plans:
| Plan | Price on the page | What it lists |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Unlimited Goals with resume and materials, job description parsing and prep checklist, desktop app for macOS and Windows |
| Pro | "$25+/mo" | "Unlimited live Interview CoPilot sessions", Stealth Mode, automatic AI debriefs, practice interviews, Screen Help with Auto-capture |
Things the page does not say: what the "+" means, what quarterly or annual plans cost (it only says "Save up to 40%"), or anything about refunds. The page also says there is no free trial, so the answer to "Final Round AI free trial" is no: the free plan exists, but live sessions need Pro.
Third-party review sites quote very different monthly prices, and we could not reconcile them with the vendor's page. Confirm the price at checkout before you pay.
The refund policy
The separate refund policy matters more than the sticker price, because refund complaints are the most common theme in user reviews (below). As written:
- The guarantee covers 72 hours, measured from the charge to when you email your request.
- It applies to initial and renewal charges, can be used once per customer across all accounts, and a Stripe processing fee may be deducted.
- It does not apply if your billing period shows "substantial use", defined as at least 2 interview sessions, each strictly longer than 30 minutes.
- After 72 hours, subscription payments are generally final, with exceptions the policy lists.
In practice: a long mock session or two may cost you the refund right, so note the renewal date before you pay.
What users praise
We could not retrieve Reddit threads directly (search did not surface the r/AI_Tools_Land post that ranks for this query, so we do not quote it). The published user reviews we could read:
- Product Hunt shows 4.9 out of 5 from 72 reviews on its Final Round AI page. The tagged praise includes resume and cover letter generation, personalised assistance, real-time transcription and a friendly interface. AI mock interviews are mentioned less often. Only a sample of reviews is visible.
- Trustpilot reviewers who rate it well point to ease of use and practical mock interviews, and describe smooth, low-latency practice (Trustpilot). Of 280 reviews, 42% are five-star and 18% four-star.
Product Hunt reviewers are self-selected, so read the 4.9 with that in mind.
What users complain about
Trustpilot gives the clearest picture of the downside. Its overall score is 2.8 out of 5 from 280 reviews, with 28% one-star. Recurring themes on the page:
- Refunds. Reviewers report refusals under the 3-day guarantee, often when the company cited "substantial" usage.
- Billing. Reports of unexpected renewals or annual charges, and some who say cancellation did not stop billing.
- Support. Many describe AI-only replies and no route to a human.
- The live copilot. Some say it "gives completely irrelevant suggestions during actual calls."
Product Hunt's most-tagged concern is pricing, and one reviewer alleged recurring charges and confusing credit and subscription billing (Product Hunt).
To be balanced: Trustpilot shows the company replying to about 37% of negative reviews, usually citing the published refund policy, and in one case apologising and issuing a full refund. Many of the loudest complaints are about billing mechanics, not about the mock interview content.
Read the refund policy first, use a card you can dispute, and note the renewal date.
Is Final Round AI legit?
As a company, yes. Its own article, Is Final Round AI Legit?, says "It is not a scam" and that whether using it is ethical "depends entirely on the employer's specific policy for the specific round." That is the vendor describing itself, but the product, plans and refund policy are public and users do pay for it. The second meaning of "legit", whether it is permitted in your interview, is the next section.
Live interview copilots and what employers say
A live copilot listens to your interviewer and shows you suggested answers while you talk. Here is what we could source on employer attitudes. All of this is reporting from 2025 unless noted, and policies change, so check the invitation for your own interview.
- Amazon. Internal guidance reported by IT Pro tells candidates to "please do not use GenAl tools during your interview unless explicitly permitted," and warns that failing to follow the guidelines "may result in disqualification from the recruitment process." It also lists signs interviewers watch for, such as candidates typing during questions, reading rather than responding naturally, or looking away.
- Anthropic. Reporting says its guidance asks candidates not to use AI during live interviews unless told otherwise, and to do take-home assessments without Claude unless allowed. It has also changed its policy over time, permitting AI for refining application materials (Fortune).
- Meta. Mixed: a reported pilot of AI-assisted coding interviews (TechRadar), alongside a reported late-October 2026 candidate guide asking for no unauthorised AI help that we did not open ourselves. Check Meta's current instructions.
- Canva. The opposite case: engineering candidates were expected to use AI tools in some technical interviews (ACS Information Age).
Can it be detected?
Opinions differ, and most published numbers come from companies that sell detection. Fabric reports flagging 38.5% of candidates for AI cheating across 19,368 interviews (search summary of Fabric's report); treat that as a vendor figure. Final Round AI's own article says that in proctored assessments the platform "may log that a new application was opened." We won't advise on avoiding detection. The better question is whether the employer's rules allow outside tools. If they don't, the risk is the one Amazon states: disqualification.
Where AI is part of the format, using it is not cheating. See our posts on AI-allowed coding interview rounds and AI pair programming practice vs cheating tools. The rule is to do what the instructions for that round say, and to ask the recruiter if they say nothing.
Who Final Round AI is for, and who should skip it
It may suit you if:
- You want AI-guided mock sessions with a debrief and are comfortable with a subscription priced from about $25 a month.
- You want one tool covering job goals, resume material, mocks and debriefs.
- Your interviews are explicitly AI-permitted, or you will only use the practice side.
Skip it, or use only the practice side, if:
- Your target employer's rules prohibit outside tools. That is common, and a rescinded process is a worse outcome than a weaker answer.
- You are on a tight budget. Free and cheaper practice exists (see below).
- You are sensitive to billing friction. The recurring complaint is refunds and renewals, so read the policy first.
- You want to know whether your code is correct. Final Round AI's site describes coding practice, but we found no statement on its pages that your code is compiled and run against test cases, so we cannot say it does.
Final Round AI vs LockedIn AI, Parakeet AI and Cluely
These are the names that show up beside it in searches. Pricing below is what each vendor's page showed when we loaded it in October 2026.

For the practice side, you do not need a live copilot at all. The alternatives below are rehearsal tools.
Practice-first alternatives
The principle: rehearse before the interview, so the answers you give on the day are yours. Ranked for technical interview prep, with the established peer-practice platform first.
| Rank | Tool | Format | Price on its page | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Aced Practice (ex-Pramp and Exponent) | Peer mock interviews with AI feedback on paid plans | Free monthly credits (number not published); paid membership price not listed on that page | Free human peer practice |
| 2 | Thita AI mock interview | Voice AI interviewer; code compiled and run against hidden tests in Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, Go and C# | Free no-sign-up 3-question mock; Starter free; Pro $14.99/month or $75/year; Elite $29.99/month or $120/year; Lifetime $69 once (pricing) | Technical rounds: coding, system design, LLD, behavioural and resume-based, with a scored report |
| 3 | Yoodli | AI roleplay and speech coaching | Starter free (5 lifetime sessions); Pro $8/month billed annually; Advanced $20/month billed annually | Delivery, filler words and pacing |
| 4 | interviewing.io | Mock interviews with engineers | Price not listed on that page | Human calibration; its page says interviewers come from companies like Google, Facebook and Netflix |
| 5 | Final Round AI Practice Interview | AI mock sessions | Part of Pro, "$25+/mo" | Mocks if you already pay for Pro |

What Thita offers for practice-first interview prep
Thita's pitch is simple: rehearse until you don't need a copilot. Final Round AI sells help during the interview; Thita is built so you walk in already able to do it. Used by 30,000+ engineers, with 81,000+ code submissions run on the platform.
- Your code actually runs, mid-interview. In an AI mock interview, a voice interviewer asks adaptive follow-ups while your code is compiled and run against hidden test cases in Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, Go and C#. It then asks about what happened. Most AI interview tools only grade what you say.
- Every round type in one product. Coding and DSA, system design on a whiteboard the AI reads, low-level design, behavioural, resume-based rounds and company-style interview loops.
- A scored report after every session, naming the one thing to fix next.
- Learn, practise and get tested in one place. Learning paths (99 DSA patterns in 16 families; system design with 73 lessons and 26 case studies; low-level design with 46 lessons; forward deployed engineering), 410 DSA problems and 850+ in total with an in-browser runner, an AI Coach anchored to each line of your code, and two 90-day roadmaps.
- Sheets and company prep. NeetCode 150, NeetCode 250, Blind 75, system design, LLD and behavioural sheets, plus a company-wise kit covering 160 companies with interview data and 111 company kits. A free ATS resume analyzer is included.
- Try it free. The 3-question AI mock interview takes about 10 minutes and needs no sign-up.
Best if you want unlimited-feeling AI reps with real execution; pair it with one paid human mock if you want a FAANG engineer's read before the final loop.

| Thita Pro per interview | $14.99/month for 15 AI interviews | About $1 per interview |

FAQ
Is Final Round AI legit?
It is a real company with public plans and a published refund policy. Reviews are mixed: Trustpilot 2.8 out of 5 from 280 reviews, Product Hunt 4.9 from 72. Whether using it is legitimate in your interview depends on the employer's rules.
Is Final Round AI worth it?
For mock practice, it is one option at $25+/month when cheaper options exist, including Thita Pro at $14.99/month. For the live copilot, it depends on whether your employer allows it.
How much does Final Round AI cost?
Its pricing page lists a free plan at $0 and Pro at "$25+/mo" (read October 2026), and says "Save up to 40%" without detail. The "+" is unexplained, so confirm the price at checkout.
Does Final Round AI have a free trial or free plan?
There is a free plan (Goals, resume and materials setup, job description parsing, desktop app). There is no free trial: the page says live sessions need an active Pro subscription.
What do people say about Final Round AI on Reddit?
We could not retrieve the Reddit threads, so we do not quote them. Trustpilot and Product Hunt (above) show praise for ease of use and mocks, and complaints about refunds, billing, support and live-call suggestions.
Can you get a refund from Final Round AI?
The policy offers a 72-hour guarantee, once per customer, not available after "substantial use" (at least 2 sessions longer than 30 minutes in the billing period). Trustpilot reviewers report refusals under this rule.
What is the best Final Round AI alternative?
For practice: Aced Practice for free peer sessions, Thita for technical rounds with executed code and a scored report at $14.99/month, Yoodli for delivery, and a human mock for calibration. For live in-interview answer feeding, we do not recommend any tool, because most employers' rules prohibit it.
Final Round AI vs LockedIn AI, Parakeet AI or Cluely?
Final Round AI, LockedIn AI, Parakeet AI and Cluely are live-assistant products with different pricing models; Thita is the practice-first option in the same table. See the comparison above. Check the employer's rules before using any of them in a real interview.
Conclusion
Final Round AI is a legitimate product whose mock interviews are a reasonable use and whose live copilot is the risky part. Billing and refunds are where users complain most, so read the policy before paying. If your goal is to perform better in the interview you actually have, rehearse beforehand with a tool that makes you do the answering, and with code that actually runs. Start with Thita's free AI mock interview, no sign-up, about 10 minutes, and add one human mock before the real loop.
