Put another way, a single interviewing.io session at $179 buys roughly 180 AI interviews on Thita Pro at $14.99 per 15. Thita Lifetime is $69 once, with lifetime access to all 11 learning paths plus 32 AI credits for mock interviews or coach sessions, against $275 for Hello Interview's lifetime plan. Sources are listed above.
If you have $0, under $50, or $200+ to spend
| Budget | What to do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| $0 | Thita's free 3-question AI mock and the free Starter plan, plus peer mocks on Aced Practice and InterviewBit | An on-demand code-running interviewer and live human reactions, without paying |
| Under $50 | Thita Pro at $14.99/month for 15 AI interviews, with free peer mocks alongside | Volume matters most early on, and AI reps cost about $1 each |
| $200+ | One or two paid human mocks from interviewing.io, an Aced coach, IGotAnOffer or MeetAPro, timed 1 to 2 weeks before your loop | A paid human can calibrate you against a real hiring bar |
Most candidates do best by sequencing: AI reps and free peers early, one or two paid human mocks late. A Tech Interview Handbook guide and several comparison articles give the same order.
The ranked list
1. interviewing.io (best for human FAANG mocks)
interviewing.io says its mock interviewers are engineers from companies including Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Netflix and Apple. Categories on its site include DSA, system design, ML, behavioural and staff-level, plus company-specific sessions.
- Price: the pages we fetched did not list one, and third-party sources disagree. Lodely says individual sessions start at about $225 and branded company sessions at about $339. Another roundup cites $179 per session. A Blind-linked article lists $160 and $260 for non-branded and $250 and $370 for branded, depending on level. Treat the range as roughly $160 to $370 and confirm at checkout.
- Praise: sources commonly call it the strongest option for rigorous, late-stage feedback.
- Complaints: price is the common one, and one article notes you cannot see interviewer profiles before being matched.
- Free tier: one review says new users get one free peer mock on signup, an AI interviewer for solo practice and a library of replays (Lodely). That comes from a competing site and we could not confirm it on interviewing.io's own pages.
Read our interviewing.io review for the detail.
2. Thita (best for realistic AI reps across every round)
Thita is the AI interviewer that does what most AI interview tools do not: it compiles and runs your code against hidden test cases in Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, Go and C# during a voice interview, then asks follow-ups on what actually happened. Most AI tools only grade what you say. Used by 30,000+ engineers, and 81,000+ code submissions have run on the platform.
What Thita offers for software engineer mock interviews
- Code execution in a voice round. Your solution runs against real test cases while the AI mock interview is still going. A failing case becomes a follow-up question, the way a real interviewer would react.
- System design on a whiteboard the AI reads. Draw your architecture and the interviewer questions the components you drew.
- Low-level design. Class and API design rounds, in the same voice format.
- Behavioural rounds. Story-based questions with follow-ups.
- Resume-based rounds and company-style loops. Interviews built from your resume, plus loops modelled on specific companies. The company-wise kit covers 160 companies with interview data and 111 company kits.
- A scored report every time. Each session ends with a report that names the one thing to fix next.
- A free 3-question mock with no sign-up. One executed coding problem, one behavioural, one system design, in about 10 minutes.
- Learning paths and sheets in the same place. DSA patterns (99 patterns in 16 families), system design (12 families, 73 lessons, 26 case studies), low-level design (12 families, 46 lessons), Forward Deployed Engineering, plus Data Science, AI/ML, OS, DBMS, Networks and Math. Sheets include NeetCode 150, NeetCode 250, Blind 75, system design, LLD and behavioural. There are 410 DSA problems and 850+ in total, with an in-browser runner, and two 90-day roadmaps.
- An AI Coach. The AI Coach is anchored to each line of your code while you learn and practise.
- A free ATS resume analyzer.
Pricing (USD, full details):
| Plan | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | 2 AI interviews in the first week, then 1 a month; DSA Fundamentals, Data Science and AI/ML paths |
| Pro | $14.99/month or $75/year | 15 AI interviews a month; all core paths (DSA, DSA Fundamentals, OS, DBMS, Networks, Data Science, AI/ML) plus any 2 more (e.g. System Design, LLD, Math, FDE); both 90-day roadmaps |
| Elite | $29.99/month or $120/year | 30 AI interviews a month; all 11 learning paths; both roadmaps |
| Lifetime | $69 once (about $59 with code THITA15, before tax) | All 11 learning paths, every pattern and cheatsheet, all 8 pattern sheets, "Go Deep" content, both roadmaps, plus 32 AI credits (granted once) |
Best for: unlimited-feeling AI reps on coding, system design, LLD and behavioural rounds. Pair it with one paid human mock if you want a FAANG engineer's read before an onsite. We compare it with a peer site in Thita vs Pramp.
3. Aced Practice (Pramp), best for free human practice
Pramp was acquired by Exponent, and Exponent has since renamed itself Aced. New Pramp sessions run on Aced Practice. We cover the history in Pramp in 2026.
- Format: one-on-one video calls of about an hour, with roles switching halfway.
- Rounds: DSA, system design, behavioural, product management and finance. SQL, data science and ML, and frontend are listed as beta. DSA, SQL and frontend use a shared code editor.
- Price: "Free users are allotted credits to practice every month." The number is not stated. AI feedback and transcripts need a paid membership, and the page does not list plan prices.
- Watch out for: partner preparation. Reviews of peer platforms commonly flag uneven partner quality.
4. Exponent / Aced coaching, best for PM and senior candidates
Aced lists "Mock Interviews & Coaching: Practice with senior tech coaches," plus resume review and salary negotiation. Its practice page does not list prices. A Blind-linked comparison article quotes coaching from $250 per session, with bundles, and a 2026 comparison says from $200 per hour. Both are third-party figures. Aced's AI practice grades answers against hiring rubrics with a score per attribute, and AI feedback needs a paid membership. Our Exponent and Aced review covers the paid membership.
5. IGotAnOffer, best for company-specific coaches
IGotAnOffer sells sessions through credits, and each coach sets a credit cost. One third-party review puts a credit near $50 and software engineer sessions at 2, 3, 4 or 5 credits, so about $100 to $250 for an hour. A Blind-linked article lists $150 per hour. Per the Blind-linked article, you get less control over which coach you get than on a marketplace.
6. MeetAPro, best for shopping by price and company
MeetAPro is a marketplace of working professionals for 1:1 mocks. Its page lists coding in a shared codepad, system design on a whiteboard, and a hire or no-hire verdict. Interviewers are described as verified through LinkedIn and employment checks, and you can filter by company, price and type. It lists no prices. The Blind-linked article says rates are set by each interviewer, roughly under $50 to $300+, plus a 15% platform fee, and a Blind user reported a system design mock at "$90+" in 2023. Quality varies by interviewer, so read profile reviews.
7. Hello Interview Live (AI), best for system design out loud
Hello Interview's Premium includes Live Practice, an AI interviewer. You run a system design interview out loud and get a hire or no-hire decision for your target level plus a written report. The page says feedback is "calibrated against 10,000+ human-led mock interviews with FAANG interviewers."
- Price: a directory page dated October 2026 lists USD sale prices of $47 monthly, $78 yearly and $275 lifetime, with 1, 2 and 10 Live interviews respectively, and says Premium fees are non-refundable.
- Note: Hello Interview wound down its human mock interview and mentorship programs on May 31, 2026, per its own announcement, so older roundups that quote coach prices are out of date. See our Hello Interview Premium review.
8. InterviewBit peer mocks, best for free anonymous practice
InterviewBit offers "Free and Anonymous Mock Interviews." You set your availability and languages, get matched with a peer of similar experience, and run a session of about an hour and a half, interviewing for half of it and being interviewed for the other half. There is a collaborative code editor and audio calling, and you receive peer feedback afterwards. It is free, according to its own page. The page does not list supported languages.
9. Interview Kickstart, best for a long guided programme
Interview Kickstart is a program, not a single mock. Programs run about 12 weeks, include 1:1 mock interviews with FAANG+ interviewers, and cover many roles. It publishes no prices: the FAQ says to register for a free webinar to learn them. See our Interview Kickstart review. If you only want a few mocks, a marketplace is a better fit.
10. Final Round AI, best for job-description drills
Final Round AI lists a free plan (goals, job description parsing, desktop app) and a Pro plan "$25+/mo" with no free trial. Pro includes practice interviews across eight scenario types, including coding and system design, with a "Re-drill" option. It also sells a live Interview Copilot, which is a separate product from mock practice. Read our Final Round AI review before buying.
11. HackerRank AI mock interviews, best for a familiar assessment platform
HackerRank's mock interviews are timed AI-led sessions with feedback on approach, code and communication. Tracks include a 30-minute technical screen, 60-minute coding and system design, behavioural, AI fluency, and React and Node.js tracks. The page states no price, supported languages, or whether code is run, so we can't compare it on those points.
System design mocks specifically
System design has no test suite to check your answer, so the format matters. The options above that cover it:
| Option | Format | Price (USD) | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| interviewing.io | Human expert | Third-party figures from about $160 to $370 | Senior and staff categories listed |
| Thita | AI voice with whiteboard | Free mock; Pro $14.99/month | The interviewer reads your canvas; 12 families, 73 lessons and 26 case studies to study from |
| Aced Practice | Free peer mock | Free monthly credits | Quality depends on your partner |
| IGotAnOffer | Human coach | About $100 to $250 per hour per third-party review | System design coaches listed |
| MeetAPro | Human marketplace | Set per interviewer | Whiteboard format listed |
| Hello Interview Live | AI voice | Included in Premium ($47/month per a directory page) | Hire or no-hire for target level |
What to study between mocks. Thita pairs system design learning paths, a system design sheet, the DSA patterns path and the NeetCode 150 and Blind 75 sheets with its mocks.
